INFOFLASH N°80 – New Guide to Impressionism in France

A perfectly successful Baptism in Argenteuil.

A large audience on this evening of June 19, 2024 in Argenteuil (Val d’Oise) where Georges Mothron, Mayor of the city, Vice-President of the northern loop of the Seine and Honorary President of Impressionisms Routes©, had invited the actors and partners of the Impressionisms Routes© network, Official Cultural Route of the Council of Europe, to celebrate the publication of the new Guide to Impressionism in France, published in partnership with “Le Petit Futé”.

With the support of the Ministry of Culture, this event, organized in the gardens of the Abbey, containing the ruins of the Héloïse Monastery, brought together numerous elected officials, tourism officials, journalists and guests, mainly from the Region Parisian: Marie-Christine Cavecchi, President of the Departmental Council of Val d’Oise, Luc Wattelle, Mayor of Bougival, Chantal Juglard, Deputy Mayor of Argenteuil, in charge of Culture, Pierre Bedouelle, President of Impressionisms Routes©, Stéphane Szeremeta, Editorial Director du Petit Futé, the authors of the Guide: Monique Lucenet, Professor, member of the Scientific Council of Impressionisms Routes© and Georges Lucenet, Vice-President and General Manager of Impressionisms Routes©…

An atmosphere that is both friendly and studious, with speeches highlighting the growing importance of cultural tourism… This work, a new tourist and educational tool at the service of the territories as most of the speakers have highlighted, covers around a hundred impressionist sites in France. It summarizes the history and the great moments of the movement while providing traditional practical information appreciated by the readers of Petit Futé.

With this new publication, the Impressionisms Routes© network affirms its attachment to the values of the Council of Europe and its recognized positioning at the heart of the territories.
