INFOFLASH N° 81- FAMM in Mougins: A New Museum that (finally) brings Women Artists to the forefront!

Dear friends,

Women have occupied a place in art that has often been contested for them: Berthe Morisot, one of the stars of Impressionism, was unable to study at the “Ecole des Beaux-Arts” in Paris since the latter did not open its doors to women only in 1897, two years after his death!

The new “Women Artists” Museum inaugurated in June 2024 in Mougins is entirely dedicated to Women… A happy initiative that echoes the Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington…
Partner of Impressionisms Routes© and magnificently located in the heart of the old town of Mougins, this original cultural space is set to enjoy deserved success…

It will participate in the events organized at the end of 2024 and beginning of 2025 by Impressionisms Routes© to highlight Women in Art, in the wake of the scheduled opening of the Berthe Morisot house in Bougival next September…
