INFOFLASH 91 – Impressionisms Routes®: A grand end to the year!
The official opening of the Berthe Morisot House in Bougival
This Monday, December 16, 2024, Luc Wattelle, Mayor of Bougival, invited national and local elected officials as well as personalities from the world of Art and Culture to the official opening of the “Maison de Berthe Morisot”, a new major cultural center of the Paris Region.
The Impressionisms Routes® network is proud to be a partner of this exceptional achievement
Bougival is the “Giverny” of Berthe Morisot… the most famous of the Impressionist women lived in this house from 1881 to 1884; she painted more than 40 paintings there… The only museum space in the world dedicated to the woman who was at the forefront of the impressionist movement, this place finally allows us to take stock of the modernity and singularity of the “Muse” of Impressionism.
The scenography is built on the basis of a thematic route: in each room the visitor can let himself be impregnated by the unique atmosphere of the place and orient himself as he wishes towards a multimedia animation or reproductions of the famous paintings of the artist.
A remarkable achievement which now places Bougival at the forefront of French Impressionist sites and which fits perfectly into the new project promoted from 2025 by the Impressionisms Routes® network with the support of the Ministry of Culture: “Impressionism at feminine”, whose objective is to highlight the many European impressionist artists who are too often forgotten!
