INFOFLASH 90 – FEMININE IMPRESSIONISM : Exhibition and Conference in Argenteuil

Elsa Triollet & Aragon Media Library, November-December 2024

Often ignored in the history of pictorial art, women artists emerged at the end of the 19th century… It is not surprising that the Impressionist movement, by definition non-conformist, encouraged their development. Argenteuil is one of the high places of Impressionism in the Paris region. The presentation of the new exhibition “Feminine Impressionism” proposed by the Impressionnisms Routes © Network mirrors the Conference by Haywon Forgione, art historian, entitled: “Impressionist Women. Redefining Feminine Art” on November 29, 2024 is an excellent opportunity to end this anniversary year of the first Impressionist exhibition of 1874 in Paris!

The evening of November 29, 2024 marked an exceptional cultural moment at the Argenteuil Media Library…The exhibition “L’Impressionisme au Féminin” is presented until December 12, 2024, it is part of a larger project led by the impressionnisms Routes© network in partnership with the French Ministry of Culture, which will be developed throughout the year 2025.
