Located at the foot of the Quercy hillsides, the Moissac site has been labeled a “Town of Art and History” since 2012… It is built around its Romanesque monastery whose cultural, political and economic influence has favored development and universal fame… The site is also listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as one of the routes to Santiago de Compostela.
The city has decided to honor the 150th anniversary of the first Impressionist exhibition (Paris 1874) by hosting from August 12 to 28, 2024 the Exhibition proposed by the European Network Impressionisms Routes©, certified Cultural Route of the Council of Europe. This exhibition, made up of more than sixty paintings (reproductions on high quality canvas) and numerous educational panels, aims to describe and illustrate the Impressionist movement in France, but also its important ramifications throughout the European continent
